Ok, not all respect. She is still a beastly freak of nature who took women's tennis to a new level.

i disagree bobymicjohn. i think she was standing up for herself and had every right to speak her mind. to me the guilty party is the chair umpire. would u prefer all players never speak up?
  193d
How is the chair umpire guilty for making the correct call (after being reviewed on video later)?
  193d
Serena threw a fit like a child. She knows the rules of tennis, they can't change a call once its been made.
  193d
She also does not have every right to "stand up for herself" by yelling at the umpires and smashing her racquet, hence why she was penalized.
  193d
i get ur point. but i've never seen a warning given for coaching during a match. apparently happens all the time, so she felt like she was being singled out for cheating and disagreed.
  193d
i've seen racquet smashing plenty. i've seen players swear at umpires. never seen a game taken away. maybe cuz they never got the 3rd strike, but getting one for calling ump a thief seems overboard.
  193d
i was just interested in watching a great match. and osaka was awesome. but i'd rather have watched more tennis instead of more drama. i watch for the players, not the referees.
  193d
Imo Serena should've been pissed at her coach, not the ref. Presumably they'd been doing it for the entire tournament. Perhaps the refs conspired to make an example of her?
  193d
Thing is - Osaka was still winning handily even before the penalty. She had faster serves and way more patience throughout the match. Serena should admit that she got her ass whooped by a girl.
  193d
Yeah Serena got her ass beat and was just a down right sore loser. That's ok, until you get the crowd to boo the young girl who happened to beat you at her first Grand Slam title.

That a 4th grader can go pro might make you think this game is easy but I assure you, it's hands down the most difficult board game ever devised. http://www.asahi.com/ajw/articles/AJ201901060029.html

Great game. Hard to find people to play against. I should try online more I guess.
