A clock? If you start with 8am and add 7 hours, you get 3pm.

Sounds a lot like Memo. Gavin ended up creating a Memo account when it launched in 2018: https://memo.cash/post/b924190069574571329dce58168556621101f31e0474ee186afc1da512bb784a

Gavin Andresen post from 2010 about communication channels on bitcoin potentially flooding the network with Lady Gaga videos. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=195.msg1613#msg1613

Just because centralized power exists doesn't prove power naturally centralizes. I've already given you 3 counter examples.
replied 83d
Small sovereignties can thrive if they are strong, e.g. Singapore. US spent 20 years in Afghanistan and always struggled to control it. Power centralization isn't a law of nature.
replied 83d
It's been 30 years and they're now attacking the first of the 14 countries? Doesn't sound like a very strong vacuum of power.
replied 83d
Russia is only 1 of the 15 countries that were part of the Soviet Union.
replied 83d
"Power vacuum" is an excuse used to take control, rather than a natural phenomenon that must occur. Central power can collapse without a replacement, e.g. USSR.

What about deleting partial data, not the whole bucket?

As Jason says only miners should be able to make the blocksize change. And thats it. (If seen as money)
replied 102d
I reject CHIPs because I don't believe in democracy. I think bitcoin was fine as originally architected. Only changes needed is to increase limits, which miners can do on their own.
replied 102d
Mining is competition, not democracy. Miners invest in the chain with an expected return. If you think that's the same as people voting I think you've missed the novelty of bitcoin.
