lowering the blocktime really doesn't mean anything as u would need to wait for more confirms for the same certainty. also the blocksize limit/scalability would have to b replanned too
BCH's frequent slow blocks is the outcome of low relative hashrate and swing mining.
This can only be solved with a hashing algorithm change.
I will never sell some of my BCH, unless the price goes up a lot more.
By the way I did not buy (i.e., replace what I spent) at recent high prices like $700. I am buying bitcoin cash
Sorry to hear that. It is a good idea to take the backup and protection of your wallet seed very seriously. At least you have learned this the hard way now. Why was the wallet deleted?
Long story, bt the problem was I had one seed phrase for 2 badger accounts. It's the only one they gave me though. I assumed it would work for both
2 more accounts have been drained. We still do not know the root cause. It is recommended to remove all except small balances from Memo until we have more info.
Looking forward to see the rework. You could do a flipstarter to fund it. BCH could really use a better merchant directory/map than what is currently available.
Yesterday, there were 317266 txs on BCH chain, 282956 txs on BTC. BCH tx dominance=BCH/BTC=112% 1248299-1247382=917 memo txs, 📈0.7% (compared w/ prev 911), account for 0.3% of all BCH txs
Why? So they get caught?
Maybe CashFusion and shuffle help privacy on BCH. We should not attract bad actors just to raise our popularity on the market. Besides, XMR works for them.
Lol, “bad actors”.
I’m happy to attract anyone seeking economic freedom or privacy to BCH.
It’s a solution to their problems. Might as well make it our opportunity as well.
So far targets identified are
*@JudasPainkill3r
*Spice Trader
*Shadow Man
*Cryptora
*framore
*WeAre
That should be it for now, but I may have missed some.
Until the vulnerability is known, EVERYONE should move everything off of memo save for whatever you can spare to lose to keep posting.
IMPORTANT.
Something strange is going on, some memo/member addresses are being emptied to a single address.
DO NOT LEAVE LARGE BALANCES ON YOUR MEMO/MEMBER ADDRESS.
Thanks to spice trader for spotting this.
Looks like this has been going on for at least a few days, Spice Trader's coins were hacked on February 8th, along with as many as 250 other accounts.
I don't understand though, wouldn't the bad actor need your private keys or something to empty your wallet? Forgive the superficial understanding, I don't see how it's possible.
Yes, the theory is that they may have acquired them via browser cookies or something else in browser addons per Geri's post. It is unknown if Memo itself has a exploit.
