social media posts that pay the absolute bare minimum are very low priority and do not need to be confirmed right away. real transactions will always be able to buy into the next block

Anything that pays the absolute bare minimum are low priority. Could be spam, could be your paycheck. Set fees appropriately.

my point is that social media posts should always be considered low priority and wont spam up the network. posters can always set higher if they really need their cat memes confirmed

Your point, it seems, is that you're of the opinion that social transactions are second to monetary ones. Fortunately (or unfortunately) we now collectively decide what is important.

my point is that the market decides. if it has value, people buy it. if you have more use of a scarce resource that's in demand, you have to compete.
