Mixing is like throwing a poopy diaper in a shared laundry and hoping it comes out clean. That depends on a lot of people with clean clothes not minding a little poo on them.

Also, transparent-by-default means every time you mix, you raise flags about that particular transaction. Why not just use money that respects your privacy?

Indeed, why not?

Use what serves you best.

We would not be able to have this (at least somewhat private) conversation about privacy on the Monero blockchain.

A transparent blockchain (eg, BTC) makes sense for *public, pseudonymous* posts.
Which is what these are.

If I wanted *anonymity* (and censorship-resistance!), I'd be posting on Dread

Somewhat private in the sense that our identities are somewhat protected by pseudonymity.
At least censorship resistant public conversation versus non-existent.
Cash with scribbles :)

Not private = not censorship resistant.
Ask anyone in Taiwan.
