I don't see what makes it immoral. I don't think you need to go quietly. Democracy may not be perfect, but it is the best system we have thought up so far.
replied 2251d
Democracy was a dream that became an illusion.
replied 2251d
"Good" and "bad" are subjective human constructs.

Also, there are no democracies implemented anywhere on the planet.
replied 2251d
There is nothing in the world if we only recognize ideal versions of things as real things.

We do have democracy. We have representative democracy. Direct democracy is a bad idea.
replied 2251d
It's not about ideal versions. Currently, none of the elected officials represent the pleb. If anything, they only represent their own wallets. XD
replied 2250d
People voted for them, so they represent the people. Those who do not vote are effectively voting for the status quo. The problem with every democracy is lack of participation.
replied 2250d
"The problem with every democracy is lack of participation. "
Fun fact: 43.9 percent of Germans voted for Hitler in the 1933 elections
replied 2250d
"People voted for them, so they represent the people. "

That's some fucked up anti-logic.
replied 2250d
"The problem with every democracy is lack of participation."

I disagree. The biggest flaw is that majority has to be intelligent to maintain a democracy.
replied 2250d
The education system cannot be a state-run monopoly if we are to maintain a Democracy
replied 2250d
I can agree with this. That said there is nothing wrong with a state run school that works along side private schools which is what we currently have.
replied 2250d
The state-run school is never allowed to fail. As such, it consumes resources almost independent of its ability to actually, you know, educate children.
replied 2250d
No matter what, on every distribution curve half the people are dumber, and half are smarter. Since it's easier to target the lower half during a campaign that is who is targeted.
replied 2250d
Look around dude. At this stage it's not about that. It's about "majority of the population is mentally retarded".
replied 2250d
It's easy to get that picture, but it seems general IQ has risen. Seemingly correlating the end of the use of lead paint.
replied 2250d
That us actually plain logic. Please point out a flaw if I am not seeing it.

While not government, I am an elected official and represent people on a board.
replied 2250d
You have to have a completely twisted thought process to call that logic lol.

Voting for your slavers won't make it democracy. it's a farce, nothing more.
replied 2250d
That isn't just a thought process though. That is how representative democracy works. There is no slavery going on. Regular people can even run for elections, and have won.
replied 2250d
"While not government, I am an elected official"
There is all the difference in the world. A *government* official can send armed men to *make* you do things. No other "official" can!
replied 2250d
Yes, and no. Technically they do not send those arned men arbitrarily. They write laws, some of which see you arrested are caught breaking.
replied 2250d
I represent those who voted, and those who did not vote. It is strange representing people when voter apathy is high. Except it means no one is upset with how thigs are run.
