Science is just one particular method of philosophy. Early on some called it natural philosophy.

Science is not what we know, those are facts. Science gives us facts.

Yes, but that was not said as a serious definition of science. Look into the context of that quote.

He was one of many philosophers of science, which is about the method of science.
