I find it amazing that people don't get this. I blame the education system.
Imho currency (money, cash) is to spend it. I own my house, my car, my smartphone, my books. I can buy it using money. If I travel to UK, I buy GBP to spend it there, not to own.
It's both. Utiillity is like firewood. Burn it to keep warm and then d next cold night that comes burn it again. Distribution and storage. I store fire wood for its future utiillity
