I used to run a local BBS back before this internet caught on. Also shotgunned 3 of them for gaming back in 1999. It was then used as a backup to ADSL and testing serial ports.
The anarchists bible, phreaking, hosting your own radio show without registering, good stuff.
Mostly pirated games and xxx pictures back then. Some forums and turn based games. I even had internet newsgroups and email for people.
| Somewhere along the line they quit giving free dial up with ADSL and the computer it was connected to died about 5 years ago.
