Searching the Memo app on Google Play by name is impossible. So many apps named Memo or Notes are showing up.

Thanks for bringing this up. It's possible the app is not showing up in search results at all due to some account updates that are needed. We will look into it.

Looks like the issue is the app doesn't target Android 12 or higher. Because of that it has had reduced visibility since August 2023. Looks like it needs an update.

Found out if app is not updated then Google will remove it from the Play Store on April 17th.

Last version was in 2020. Will take a decent amount of work to get everything updated for a new release.

If it was open-source, I think some people would contribute code too

I have been pivoting to Memo open source which has caused old projects like this mobile app to get left behind. No one has ever contributed to Memo's open source projects though.

Maybe you can use AI to assist with some of the changes.

Probably won't have bandwidth for changes. Mostly just need to get development environment resetup and reconfigured so that libraries can be updated. Not sure AI can help much.

In any case, it will be very necessary to have the Memo app so you can also implement it to scan QR codes

Just getting it refreshed without any changes at all will be a lot of work. We'll see about adding new features too.

I see, why not make a little change on memo like adding new features or something that may attract new users.
Just some thoughts of mine.

We will see. The focus now is the open source version. I'd rather not spend too much time on legacy projects.
