I can't really think of a better use for Bitcoin than to build back up the people who were ruined by financial crises and government/bank mismanagement
I don't disagree with you dix, i would love to see bitcoin help people get back on their feet, but practically I see targeting the homeless as a non starter unfortunately :-(
Maybe, but giving up on them is shirking >50% of the world's population. After visiting several developing countries, it puts American "extreme" poverty in a different light
We getting our lines crossed here dix, I'm not talking about >50% of world population! I'm talking >0.5 of wealthy first world country population! The homeless u(USA?) me(UK) would see
And people in developing countries who only make enough to feed themselves. With worsening natural disasters, increasing autocracy, and rising sea levels they will be homeless soon too
Yes but dix we talking about the %0.5 homeless, not the %50 world's population living in poor and devloping counties. They 2 completely different sets, with very different problems.
It might not drive price increases as fast as recruiting whales, but if it further decentralizes supply or increases awareness/traffic it's still good for BCH
I might actually try to start this initiative, maybe at first by handing out tip wallets to people on hiking trails, then at homeless camps if I can get a team together
I think more homeless people have cellphones than you think too, but they are at constant risk of having cash and assets stolen. They can memorize or write down a seed phrase though
And the average person is usually just a medical/economic/political crisis, lost job, or natural disaster away from homelessness.Bitcoin offers safe storage and a hedge to those people
