What are your thoughts on the block tax?
Is it a voluntary fee?
Are miners meritocratical entities?
1) It's a great idea, especially when we are currently having daily 51% attack attempts
2) Yes, and I think "fee" is even too harsh a wording, it's a miner donation. Pools already
perform this, and have seen no reduction in hash because of it
3) Miners just follow their best interests. Short-sighted miners might follow profits, but most mine because they want
to support blockchain, otherwise we'd just invest. I support the pools that put these measures forward, as I already mine on a donating pool, and would benefit from the field
leveling. All BCH-friendly pools will probably benefit from it in the long run though, as there will be less hostile solo miners on the network.
