Depends on one's idea of privacy. To me:
1) privacy ≠ anonymity
2) (most) cryptocurrency ≠ anonymity
3) non-whistleblower insisting on anonymity is questionable
Many failed at #1.
An example of privacy is that of a hotel.
You check in, and get registered using your name and ID. But as long as you were not disruptive, what happened in your room stays there.
