I think the future of EV depends on a better battery technology (solid state perhaps)?

Otherwise it'll be just a fad and won't see much uptake.

No doubt battery tech will evolve. It has already evolved pretty substantially the last 10 years. There is also hydrogen-full cell tech, which also applies to EV.

hydrogen might be suitable for the transportation industry mostly. Battery tech did not evolve meaningfully in the past 10-15 years,

Where I live we have both a fuel cell plant and research facility. There are also hydrog fuel cell cars on the road. Not many, but they work.
