The way I see it is, you got people at the top who want to trick some/all of us into believing stuff. They have now managed to get a group (leftists) to believe whatever they say.
All they need is any woke excuse for why it is the right thing and mass media pressure, and the sheep follow their instruction (x) to the letter, saying stuff like "I think that x"
