Anyone who says scientists are lying due to fear, or intimidation, or for money, has no clue what they are talking about. Scientists get fame and fortune for proving something wrong.

Some scientists do so, but most of them don't. Can be corrupt like every other profession. You are naive.

I've discussed before, but I have a family member that used to work in clinical research for a living. If they didn't "complete" their study, the clinic didn't get paid by the company.

Company being whatever pharmaceutical manufacturer was funding the study. Reasons for an incomplete? Sometimes members of the trial used recreational drugs or simply dropped out.

Those keeping the books were coereced, on occasion, to doctor the stats, including the minimum number of eligibile patients to ascertain a valid result.

Two patients on a drug screen tested positive for methamphetamine compramising eligibility? Make sure not to scan that in, keep paper copies for reference..

Thankfully this all tends to get exposed. This is why the system works so well. The lies in the stakes get exposed. They never get exposed by a random guy on the internet, but research

Since most of them do not those who do get exposed. This is a great example of what I was talking about.

"most" that a number for you? 51-100%? How do you calculate it?
replied 1358d
Somewhere in the 70% to 90% range I would guess. Also paying a settlement does not mean guilt.
replied 1358d
guess science! :D
replied 1358d
You going to pretend you have an actual stat for that?
