My idea was, registering it as a religion might make it easier to fight oppression. Religious leaders already whine about oppression all the time, and they get privileges.
If you claim it is not a religion, you would not be factually wrong, but remember, the brainwashed masses would think this "religion" is insane. With a religion it is easier to say
that "this is my faith", rather than having to fight the newest set of lies from our dear leaders.
Also, as far as I know religions may say outward that they are a religion with faith, but inward they often talk of the same things as "true". "Others are religious, we know the truth"
