There are still people in the Hungarian govt who oppose the autocracy. There would be no pull in the opposite direction if it was a direct symptom, it's mostly a symptom of apathy/hate
People with no bearing on real issues or history are more likely to fall for scapegoats and divisive rhetoric, it's remarkably easy to unite people in hatred of something unfamiliar
With their attention on external/internal "enemies," autocrats are free to rig whatever they wish behind the curtain, with little risk of their base understanding the potential impacts
I think the only disagreement of the parties in the parlament is how they want to reshare the wealth they control by collecting 90% tax (more eu level vs more country level).
