The current "incentive" is laughable, and it's uncertain that it will ever be adequate even for big players.
Don't you think big hubs will be wallet-hubs for instance ? At least these hubs will generate a lot of money, but maybe I'm wrong and the incentive is laughable
perhaps if it suddenly reaches billions of users (mind, technically it's incapable to serve that many)
Reality check: segwit still isn't adopted fully in the current small BTC network.
generating a lot of money is fine as long as it is from providing a lot of value. banks generate a lot of money but through rent seeking. but maybe I'm misunderstanding you.
