Agreed! If memo does not brainwash us, who will? There are mental hygiene issues at stake! Won't anyone think of the children? Aaaagh, the humanity of it all!!!
On a more serious note, if you don't pay for a service, you are the product. It seems clear to me that an agenda pushed on us is the product here. You can mitigate it by using topics.
Twitter needs to sell their ads. Their way is saying the "algorithm" didn't display your company's posts, so you should just buy ads to say the same thing.
The downside is that the algorithm of twitter and facebook is part of the bigger picture to attract and retain users on the platform. It's hard for this Memo to compete with that.
Yes & no. With memo it's more up to the user to follow who they want and curate their own content instead of letting the platform do it and sell all your data for ads. I think its good
It is my clear conviction that there definitely is a potential for abuse of the "posts" section of Memo by virtue of algorithm meddling and that the current functionality is confusing
Whether this potential is being abused is very hard to find out for sure, and even more difficult to show to others. But it being there gives constant incentive for abuse
