I'm sorry to hear it has not worked for you so far.

I tried opening my Bitcoin.com wallet on Electron Cash using my backup phrase and m/44'/0'/0' path

Mine worked. Both wallet shows the same address.

Check the derivation path again, note the single quote after each number.

It did work in the end, I got my money out. Of the two options they present, the Electron Cash option didn't work and the Bitcoin.com desktop app option worked after a lot of work.

It was just a big hassle, and it really annoyed me that my wallets were locked without any advance warning, following a routine app update. Thanks for your help anyway!

Good to know that you managed to get a hold of your funds.

Yes, it's a hassle to find unwanted changes through updates. I keep Android and desktop app auto update off due to that.
