FE interests me because it seems such an obvious case of people getting fooled by one side (FE'ers), and it therefore goes to the heart of the question "how do I seek truth"?
Do I follow authorities? Do I insist on understanding every piece of info I get myself? Do I "read and read a lot" by authors who also "read, and read a lot"?
People keep thinking that seeking the truth is rather easy, you "just know" what is right or whatever. Fact is we often go through complicated processes to build an opinion.
And for most people at least some of these processes are a lot about psychology as opposed to logic. For example, too many just follow the most agreeable groups/authority figures.
