The True Spirit of Crypto is uncensorability -- governments can't stop it no matter how hard they try. For example, ~100 independent darknet nodes

replied 1363d
Goodluck finding all those nodes, much less shutting them all down.
Monero over Tor, plus anon DEXes (https://Haveno.Exchange) & CPU mining makes XMR the most resilient crypto bar none
replied 1362d
None of that actually matters to people though. No one will try to stop them because they do not matter.
replied 1361d
They're what you need to stop == all of them, before any others are stood up -- to take down the Monero network.

Monero is *real* uncensorability
replied 1359d
No need to take down anything. The market will dictate what succeeds.

Obviously the FTX exchange should have been dealt with, before the money was stolen from people.
replied 1358d
People leaving their funds with any exchange are always making a mistake. Exchanges are executed in a poor way with crypto. They are a big point of failure.
replied 1357d
Centralized exchanges are definitely a single point of failure, by definition.
Tor-based decentralized exchanges are the uncensorable, unstoppable solution.

replied 1357d
It isn't about unstoppable solutions. It is about workable solutions. Most crypto doesn't matter, and the exchanging between them is meaningless speculation.
replied 1356d
True. Only one crypto is actually being used as currency. Billions of dollars of trade -- not just speculative hodling.
replied 1356d
It is about both. If you just want workable, just continue using fiat.

In the end it looks like only BTC, ETH, and Doge seem to have any chance at a serious future. Having too many crypto hurts the whole system.
replied 1353d
Having too many shitcoins hurts incl thebcurrent top ones. Doge...LOL
replied 1353d
Doge is a joke. What matters is that people know of it, and that matters more than anything else.
replied 1353d
Doge,BTC,ETH,Tron,...there are hundreds of tokens that do not scale (& therefore cannot be liquid), are not fungible, have terrible inflation, etc & therefore *cannot* function as money
replied 1353d
People think "crypto" means all those coins. It's like if "computer" meant Ryzens but also Tinkertoys, people would correctly be skeptical of them
replied 1352d
Only until it fails. I mean look at Solana. Major hype, rocketed into the top 10 and now it is collapsing as the centralized VC funded shitcoin it is amidst the FTX collapse.
replied 1350d
SOL gets a lot of hate but its PoH is a real significant improvement over PoS, and scales like crazy. It's not "centralized", anyone can run a node. They're just beefy machines.
replied 1350d
It will never be money because it's not fungible nor private. But it's more scalable than BCH.
replied 1358d
That doesn't mean someone can steal...
replied 1358d
People should have been using DEXes

Sam is an idiot, here he is saying "no need to take down anything" I strongly disagree, lots of crypto scams should be taken down. These FTX assholes needs to be obliterated.
