What will it take to get people to come to memo over and over again like they do for twitter? #dailymemo
replied 2093d
Better UI, a more straight forward and easy way to post pictures and more marketing. I also see token marketplace as something that can be leveraged more in the future....
replied 2093d
the real opportunity is censorship. twitter is being heavily censored and it's only going to get worse.

More brain cells. Better interface. Maybe some type of paid referral program.

Simple, image uploading and video. I #love #Memo, but I can honestly say it's feature list is like the 2012 Twitter version.
replied 2093d
To me it's way easier to use than twitter. So either twitter downgraded or I'm an old fart lol
replied 2093d
Uploading images via imgur is cumbersome.
replied 2093d
And most people will stop using #Memo the very first time they have to use #Imgur just to upload a photo
replied 2093d
I do agree about the image thing now. Why can't images be uploaded as easily? Lke whenever we do videos it shows a pic for preview of it. I'm not a programmer tho
replied 2093d
the memo dev doesn't give a fuck.

A lot of people have been asking for basic features and bugfixes only to be ignored.
replied 2093d
Someone will either create a better front-end for the memo protocol or the project will die.
replied 2093d
It's open-source. Anyone can just fork the project or add commits. Plus, raising funds through the community to do it is very possible
replied 2093d
That is really WEIRD ! I was just about to mention that it's open source ....
replied 2093d
Being open source and having obsolete code available publicly are completely different matters.
replied 2093d
But it still can be fixed whenever someone is willing to put in the effort and why do say the code is not publicly available if there is a #GitHub repo for #Memo
replied 2092d
There is a repo with useless code.
replied 2089d
That's a shame if that is true I may have to start pulling away from #Memo. I hope it's not #DailyMemo
replied 2093d
my bad
replied 2093d
But it still can be fixed whenever someone is willing to put in the effort
replied 2093d
I still don't know how. Is it difficult to learn?
replied 2093d
I'm not a programmer so I can't say, but it's possible.
replied 2093d
That is what I thought I read when I first joined. Remember thinking ''that's cool''

replied 2093d
I think the most recent source is closed (since tokens were added). If you find the current repo, link me.
replied 2093d
Well that seems alarming and makes me want to leave #Memo
replied 2093d
Think it makes sense if it would compromise safety for tokens if still open

replied 2093d
Security through obscurity is not an ideal method. I appreciate the work @memo does, but would prefer that the source was open.
replied 2092d
Why did they change it? I don't like facebook or twitter ...:(
replied 2093d
It wouldn't.
replied 2092d
So what does this mean ?
replied 2092d
#Bitcoin #BCH, etc. are all open source. Being open-source doesn't make something less secure.
replied 2092d
good point
replied 2092d
They deliberately do this in my view.
replied 2093d
The code is not maintained publicly and never was.
replied 2093d
The code for memo.cash? It's a year behind, no token support, muting, etc. - the user interface does not work properly anymore
replied 2093d
:(
replied 2093d
I think twitter is harder. At least with videos anyway. Can't remember images. Don't spend much time on twitter
replied 2093d
They merely follow thought leaders/celebs.

If you pay off celebs to post here then the pleb will come.
replied 2093d
Content.
replied 2093d
Makes me think: sent a demo payment of $4 to someone in real life via CoinText could tell him about memo - that's a good use case for a small amount like that
replied 2093d
I am getting too many error messages on memo, like 417, 422, 429... Who cares about all these error codes as a normal user? #memo
replied 2093d
The UX of memo is way too complicated already! #memo needs a beginner & advanced mode
replied 2093d
A lottery.
replied 2093d
...esspecially if more games are made that use tokens. Imagine people trading game tokens on Memo while communicating about it :-)
