Schiff Gold (by Peter Schiff) accepts Bitcoin Cash (BCH) payments through BitPay https://schiffgold.com/buy/buying-gold-silver-bitcoin/

If Bitpay becomes an adopted app, I wonder what will happen to BTC long term Will Bitpay remiove it? or will they leave it on there? Very few will use it for payments
replied 2175d
Definitely will remove once BCH retakes the Bitcoin name.
replied 2175d
I think we are missing the forest for the trees. BTC is done, fees are too high and it's value will capitulate. When it does fall they won't turn to BCH, they will turn to Libra.
replied 2175d
Only way BTC survives is as a digital asset horded on exchanges and on years cold wallets in the thousands of dollars at minimum.
replied 2175d
Everyone else is going to get screwed. Particularly cold wallet users when they are harshly reminded each UXTO incurs a fee. For each $50 added a week, that much could be a network fee
replied 2175d
I hope you are joking right? Otherwise you are way way way off base.
replied 2175d
I think you underestimate the average persons rabid foolishness to seek a regulated, trusted safehaven in an environment like crypto.
replied 2175d
Great. You have a right to your opinion even as idiotic as it is
replied 2175d
Right, because the industry wide push for regulation is just a front that the public doesn't actually care about. It's obviously just to make the feds happy and literally nothing else.
replied 2175d
How can you claim you know what the public wants when 9 out of 10 people don't even know about crypto? And if they heard of it, they think it's like a stock
Get lost Troll
replied 2175d
You honestly think only 10% of people have heard of Bitcoin? In the last 11 years? You're dreaming.
replied 2175d
11 years? Bitcoin didn't even hit a news wire until 2017. That's when I first learned about it. You're a douche.
replied 2175d
Bitcoin was in the news well before 2017.
replied 2175d
Your definitely an outlier. Most would've heard in either 2013 or 2014 with the silk road and Mt.gox.
homopit
replied 2175d
Neither of those was a mainstream news, but the run up to $250 and then to $1200 in 2013 was.
replied 2175d
Most? LOL. You're definitely a douche.
replied 2174d
I guess i kinda can be when the majority of people have known about BTC since 2013 or so and since you've been living under a rock until 2017 it must be new to everyone else too.
replied 2174d
Prove to me in any way that the "Majority" of people knew about crypto in 2013? Most people today looked like deer in headlights when I bring up Bitcoin and crypto.
replied 2174d
replied 2174d
None of what you posted prove a "Majority" knew about crypto in 2013.
replied 2174d
No, but what i posted earlier definitely does prove 80% of people are aware of crypto by September 2018. So it isn't a ground level opportunity anymore like you seem to imply.
replied 2174d
It is a ground level opportunity, because the world obviously doesn't know yet that BTC sucks and that's why we just lost 25% of our value. BCH is definitely ground level.
replied 2174d
They do. That's why no one uses it outside of speculation. The public knows that's all it's good for.
replied 2174d
If you look at the same polls 40% of those polled said they were interested in using crypto. And you can't use BTC. So BCH will be the most likely one to be used the most
replied 2174d
True, but it's more likely people will be more interested in using LTC, ETH or a stablecoin like USDC or Libra.
replied 2174d
Whatever. LMAO
replied 2174d
Well hang on to your jock strap because BCH will be the biggest mover over the next five years You can take that to the bank.
replied 2174d
None of the topics were particularly popular, but BTC did however have a significant percentage relative to other topics.
replied 2174d
By September 2018 80% of people heard of it. https://www.coindesk.com/survey-nearly-80-of-americans-have-heard-of-bitcoin

I cannot find any study made before 2017 yet.

Before the 2017 runup the only events to make any serious strides in google search trends were the Silk Road and Mt.Gox in 2013 and 2014.
replied 2174d
Obviously there was a spike in search trends in 2017. It's impossible to prove whether that was the first time people heard about Bitcoin.
