#s for USA flu-- 180,000 cases vs 10,000 deaths
#s for USA coronavirus-- 2,340 vs 51 deaths

180,000 divided by 10,000 =18
2,340 divided by 51 =45.8

in other words, flu is deadlier

Your math is wrong lol

If you're trying to calculate the death rate, you should be dividing the number of deaths (51) by the total cases (2340)

The number of flu cases widely varies
replied 2091d
between years though, and the average is ~30 million cases per year (https://bch.gg/2an
& https://bch.gg/2am), not 180,000 lol. Coronavirus's death rate (51/2340 = ~0.022) is much
replied 2091d
lower in comparison to the flu (10,000/30,000,000 = 0.0003) if you factor that in, even according to your figures. The actual average death rate for COVID19 is actually closer to 3.4%

though, and like the flu is much more threatening to older people or those with compromised immune systems. It is also much easier to spread.

The flu has been evolving rapidly since
replied 2091d
the Spanish Flu epidemic though, and we see several prominent strains every year. This is why we develop vaccines for it, and why bird/swine flu were still treated as serious threats
replied 2091d
Did you do 350 million divided by 45? That's almost 8 million people The flu has a preventative measure called the flu shot. There is nothing for the Corona Virus.
replied 2091d
My friend took the flu shot. Less than a week later he
had to go to the hospital and almost died from the flu.
replied 2091d
And the last thing is the flu shot is not 100% you won't get the flu anyway. But usually if you get the flu shot and you should still get the flu, the symptoms are less severe.
replied 2091d
When I was in school, they made us get the flu shot
all of the time. And I got the flu almost every year.
And they were the worst by far I ever had. Since
then no biggie.
replied 2091d
There are multiple prominent strains every year, they don't always immunize for them all. Kids are grabby little petri dishes anyways, sicknesses always spread faster in schools
replied 2091d
My point was, since I stopped getting the flu shot the flu has been minor. And they just missed the mark almost every year growing up? And I got it really bad back then. Hhmmm
replied 2091d
91,000 influenza-associated hospitalizations, and 5,700 influenza-associated deaths
replied 2091d
Obviously everyone's immune system is unique. Works great for you, but a lot of people they don't. And after I do some research I'll show you the stats for damages they cause.
replied 2091d
If you said it was causing an allergic reaction or something then I would say OK. . But you are telling me that the Flu shot causes the flu.
replied 2091d
You have been one of the fortunate ones.
replied 2091d
Not really. If it didn't work, then half the population wouldn't be getting it.
replied 2091d
I like talking and exchanging info with you. You know more than most. And most importantly
you know how to have a peaceful debate...;}
replied 2091d
Yep. This is the way it should be.
replied 2091d
The media has been dishonest about it and I can prove that. Most people don't do their own research and just listen to the news. I'm busy at the moment but will come back with facts.
replied 2091d
If you go to the CDC website they have in bold type The flu shot does not cause the flu. And they also give all the symptoms and reactions the flu shot can cause. No Media.involved.
replied 2091d
Appreciate the info.... I'll get back with mine later.
replied 2091d
At least when it comes to the flu.
replied 2091d
I'm saying that it obviously doesn't prevent it for a lot of people. They aren't that great about picking the right strain to make vaccines for. Allergic reactions aren't worst part.
replied 2091d
On good years it's about 40%-60% effective. But that's not getting it at all. But getting the flu with the flu shot, you still are more likely to have less severe symptoms.
replied 2091d
And I don't get my facts from the news or Wikipedia lol
replied 2091d
I know they can cause an Allergic reaction for some. But that is not the flu. You only have to show me one thing. That the flu shot causes the flu.
replied 2091d
2017-2018, flu vaccination prevented an estimated 6.2 million influenza illnesses, 3.2 million influenza-associated medical visits
replied 2091d
There are many other viruses that are similar to the flu you can get like a cold, Nora Virus, other intestinal viruses, respiratory viruses or infections.... ETC.
replied 2091d
Well since I have been getting the flu shot, I haven't had the flu at all. LOL. And this is even when my immune system was down due to dhemo.
replied 2091d
I have had the flu shot now for the last 5 years and have never had the flu since getting the shot.
replied 2091d
It takes about 3 weeks for your body to build up the antibodies.
replied 2091d
I hear a lot of people say that. But the flu shot is a dead virus. There is no way you can get the flu from the flu shot. However you can get the flu before the flu shot works.
