A train fell over in Montana and people died, they keep making the trains taller, and the track width has stayed the same since forever. The US standard railroad gauge is 4 feet, 8.5 inches
None of the losers in the government want to deal with this issue, The Train Tracks should be at least 10 feet wide.
It would probably save a lot of money to have a small rail car/robot inspect the track ahead of each train.
