Well, there is a preservative in the flavor packets that causes gastric paralysis abd elevated inflammation for a time.

Check out the instant noodles video from Dr. Braden Kuo, MD. Though not a scholarly study, that I could locate at least, it may change your perspective on preservatives like THBQ.
