I think it all comes back to people being used to some moderation and we having none. The difference can feel quite crazy. This is one reason I have talked a bit about filters.
A well maintained filter can make this place feel far less crazy, but if it is centralized the danger of a theymos incident is too big, and making it decentralized is probably too hard
Oh, and how to do this? Do we maintain a list of "true" content creators? And if someone on that list posts something rather average that I do not care so much about, what should I do?
Reply "oh, Mister Content Creator, that is so amazing!!!!"? And then he and my post gets a couple of "this guy is a effing spy". Shall I quarrel about that, will that really look good?
