I wasn't disagreeing, I was explaining why we support SV.
replied 1851d
Still no reason to support the corporate farce lead by serial liars and imbeciles.
replied 1851d
I try to ignore politics
replied 1851d
It's not about politics. It's about a cartel who are openly authoritarian patent trolls.

You are threading on a fine line.
replied 1851d
I understand you don't like BSV. But even you said Memo should be off-chain.
replied 1851d
omfg, you can't be this fucking spineless or stupid.

Are you denying all the shit Nchain/coingeek did?

replied 1851d
nchain and coingeek are parasites
replied 1851d
Also, I didn't claim that memo should be off-chain. I said that at scale, it can't be on the main-net. Don't be a binary thinker.
replied 1851d
Can you explain more?
replied 1851d
Sidechains seem to be well suited for these kind of stuff, but you should explore that.

btw, have you tried to estimate the implications of twitter's current volume?
replied 1851d
Sidechains lose a lot of the benefits of being on-chain and are a ton of work to implement.

Yes, Twitter volume + all other apps (Uber, etc) would 10's to 100's of PBs per year.
replied 1851d
I don't disagree we may need to go off-chain eventually. But I think it's good to explore how far we can go on-chain before engineering other solutions.
replied 1849d
Memo is a paradise for toxic trolls. Good luck with further adoption. It's painful to spend time here as morons can shit on each post you make, unless you submit to their echo chamber.
replied 1849d
Member has block and mute functions. If there is no moderation, users need tools to control what they see.
replied 1849d
What stops someone from manually creating a tx outside of memo?

Would it show on the front end?
replied 1849d
You can create your own interface. I made and use Member. Memberapp.github.io
replied 1849d
lol, nvmd should have read just a little more
replied 1849d
what is member?
replied 1849d
Yes, otherwise 3 trolls with infinite amount of time can control the narrative of the whole platform. This will keep this platform a small niche for a single echo chamber.
Simon Van Gelder
replied 1849d
They can try. Don't forget infinite resources.
replied 1849d
Trolls need much more than just time and resources:
The reward for effort is far too low here
simply because feeding trolls has the same costs.
replied 1849d
Time is all they need. And losers have abundance of it.
replied 1849d
Couldn't have said it any better myself, you and Sherry don't seem to have jobs or other interests.

I don't think either of you even mine or work on BSV, are you professional trolls?
Simon Van Gelder
replied 1849d
This is literally the only social platform you need time AND resources to spam.
replied 1849d
The price is to low to have any effect right now. You can spew shit all week long for a few cents.
Simon Van Gelder
replied 1849d
The effectiveness of trolling that requires the use of a coin in order to bad-mouth it is marginal at best.
replied 1849d
There is the idea though where each individual could set a price on how much he accepts to get replied to. That might work better as an economic solution.
Simon Van Gelder
replied 1849d
Interesting idea...a user-configurable squelch...but I can almost guarantee that posts with high value reply settings will get sub-memo'd and the unseen responses will go unaddressed.
replied 1849d
Platform can also offer sort threads by value spent. I think trying to use economics (now with bitcoin) is a smart thing to do, to solve an old problem. It's a new dimension.
replied 1849d
Stupid idea, unless you're making it use different prices for every user. Feel free to demand a certain amount for people to interact with you tho, I wouldn't charge much if I were you
replied 1849d
Says one of the most toxic trolls on Memo lol. I love that you post here eye1, your retardation is immensely entertaining. I'm sorry you can't handle disagreement
replied 1849d
Not even sure why you keep coming back here.
replied 1849d
Says the retarded nchain/coingeek boot-licker.
replied 1850d
Absolutely. When/if onchain images are too expensive, offer an option to save them, insecurely, with no guarantees, offchain.
replied 1850d
That's a false premise.
