Look at DuckDuckGo. Everyone called them stupid because they wanted to compete in search engine industry just with the idea of privacy. They are doing great!
Or even Brave, making a browser that is better than Chrome and Firefox. Web has so many features that making browsers is expensive even for Microsoft. But they did and people liked it
