Elves aren't actually beautiful, and they do show signs of aging but they use a shimmer type of magic to make any observer believe they're viewing the most beautiful possible interpret

Also check out Galadriel when she is fighting Sauron, not so pretty. Also Legolas' dad Thranduil reveals a nasty face scar he got while fighting dragons to Thorin.
