Each point has a link showing you the context in the Bible.
My point is that there is plenty of violence and cruelty condoned or performed even by God, who should be a Christian ideal.

God is judging bad people for their bad behavors indeed. Are you saying he shouldn't?

Nice argument bro. You're gonna be judged whether you like it or not so you'd better repent from your anger.

In fact that's much much older. It goes back right to the beginning.

It's less complicated than a human body so it shouldn't be that long right? 5000 years or so maybe?

So you beleive in fairy tales? Interesting. I need a new car so how long should I wait before one appears out of nothing?
replied 1827d
The current scientific consensus is that we don't yet know how the universe came to existence.
TrashPosterInTheDark
replied 1827d
Yes I know that but I don't need to wait for a scientific consensus to know that complex engineered machines don't build themselves out of nothing. That's just illogical.

Goal post moving is the favorite game of religious peeps.

It wasn't a very long time ago when the idiots thought that the sea/storms/mountain/lightning/etc are made by god. ;)

Depends on what you mean by "existence".
TrashPosterInTheDark
replied 1827d
Would you argue that you don't exist?

For instance, he kills almost everyone in the flood. Even newborn babies with "original sin", which is a made-up fault.

Also, judging is fine. Violence and cruelty are not.

Well it is said that the thoughts of people was always and only evil so... But there is more to that which is described in the book of Enoch.
replied 1827d
I'm not going to read the book of Enoch to find out what you mean with this tangent about thoughts being evil. I would like it if you provided a concrete example.

Long story short they were not human AKA homosapian sapian. They were half human half something else. They have oppressed and almost destroyed humanity.
