What's the best Linux distro?
replied 55d
I considered Debian to be the best one, but its quality is decreasing quickly.

I've always liked Ubuntu for standard servers.

One of my Bitcoin Cash nodes on a Ubuntu server (the other node is on Debian)

This is like asking "what is the best car". And before you answer, beware, I might want to use it to carry several metric tonnes of stuff, or I might want to win races or whatever.

I know.

I mean like: do you know a page where you can take a test to find the "best" distro for a person

The idea of making such a test is an interesting one, but I don't think anyone has done it. As said, an LLM might help you in a similar way. Ask Chat-GPT lots of questions and so on
replied 77d
Btw you'll probably soon enough be faced with similar questions if you use it heavily. Like choice of window manager, package system, or which software package is "best" for what.

Good point.

You may want to spend some time on https://distrowatch.com/ or maybe talk to a geek about what you need. Hell, a LLM like DeepSeek or whatever may do the job for you just fine.
