Haha that's what a thought. You're bat shit crazy, the kind of Lukejr.

What is not going good in Europe? Is there something besides the existence of immigrants? That seems to he the only mole hill you are making a mountain of.
replied 1830d
France becoming a communist country? Taxes in France represent more than half of the country GDP.
replied 1830d
So high taxes are their main complaint?
replied 1830d
They were at first. The "gilets jaunes" were protesting against the raise of a tax on oil. Now, most of them just want more state and more socialism (e.g. raising the minimum wage).
replied 1830d
Minimum wage protests aren't that unreasonable IMO, having it rise 2% per year would just account for inflation and the raises people should already receive. More state in what way?
replied 1830d
Essentially a social republic. Redistribution: taxing rich people to help the poor.

Everybody has its own claim, but I can assure you they want less free-market.
replied 1830d
Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged is a good way to see what's going on in France.
replied 1830d
It's absurd. For instance, you can see doctors working less because they don't want to earn "too much" money and pay more taxes.
replied 1830d
So if making up to say $80K gets taxed at one rate, only the small bit on top of that $80K gets taxed at the higher rate.
replied 1830d
The thing is that is not how taxes work, I cant be too sure about France though. Usually the increase in the tax bracket only applies to money earned in that bracket.
replied 1830d
Yes I understand. Not sure of how it work for them, but I've read about this side effect multiple times. I'll try to find these stories.
replied 1830d
The thing is that you have a tax for everything in France. This is very VERY complex, more complex than most European countries.
replied 1830d
Same in Denmark. The tax system in Denmark is also horribly complicated and tax on capital gains is abysmal for private citizens.
replied 1830d
That I can understand. The system itself can always be debated. As a Canadian I am use to everything being taxed. It can be a tricky system to get right.
replied 1830d
So often you pay no income tax on a certain amount, the lowest tax rate on the next lump, and so on. So it's impossible to be taxed more because you earn more.
replied 1830d
BTW this is not a clear movement. You may find a few libertarian-leaning gilets jaunes, but it does not represent the entire thing at all.

In other words, rampant poverty while the unelected EU Union is richer than ever.
replied 1830d
No, those are not the other words. Especially since none of that is true. Poverty is not rampant in the EU, and people taxes are set by their nations.

Lukejr, get out of this body!
replied 1830d
Have they started seizing the means of production? Sounds like basic socialism to me.

I'd take their crypto taxes and healthcare over US, I'm paying like 1/3 of my income just on that
replied 1830d
I'm exaggerating 😁

You have a lot of crony capitalism in France: the state is involved in many big companies and is enforcing complex laws preventing small businesses to grow.
replied 1830d
Ah yeah, that's starting to pop up all over the world though. We need another Theodore Roosevelt IMO, break up some of these MNCs before they're the government
replied 1830d
The more power the state has over companies, the more companies will fight to get power in the state. Why doesn't people understand this? Limit state power, that is the only way.
replied 1830d
Because it isn't true. Corporations won't stop vying for control over markets with less restrictions, they'll just form trusts and stop competing as they have in the past
replied 1829d
I think you should go read some books.
replied 1829d
Reading books is likely what lead to his opinion. His opinion seems to fit the evidence.

Read this one for a start .

LOL. You're the one who is advocating for "voodoo economics," trickle down theory was proven to be a fantasy years ago. Most of my econ ed. in college was disproving Keynes
replied 1830d
Yes. I don't believe politics will improve the situation. Bitcoin (Cash) will.
