No, the alternative is to scale but make as many meaningful improvements as possible instead of competing for being "the real Bitcoin"

Yea, I agree that the "the real Bitcoin" narrative, while kinda true, is not really something anyone cares about and it is not esp. productive either. Esp. not wrt. new users.

Indeed. Nobody cares about "the real Bitcoin". People care about actual P2P Internet Currency that can't be controlled by any government.

BCH got scaling right, but too many became complacent waiting to "win" because of being "right" on that one thing. It takes a lot more differentiating factors to really win.
