Bitcoin Core developer angry because of a feature the Bitcoin Core team added in

replied 1728d
BTC people are destroying the monetary function of BTC, but still want companies like Bitpay to follow their ideas.

"Muh wallet overestimate fees." Except it is hard for a wallet to guess what fee will be required to get included in the next block, or in the next 6 blocks.
replied 1728d
It's also funny how according to BTCers, EVERY wallet is shit at fee estimation. Then they link to bitcoinfees.earn.com, even though a lot of wallets use their API lmao

Exactly! The last time I sent a BTC transactions (weeks ago), the mempool was empty so I set a 1 sat/vB fee. But then it got stuck for hours...
replied 1728d
That's why I no longer use BTC.

I agree. BTC is useless as an alternative to cash, the fees are too high or it's too slow to be useful.

Same with Ethereum.

You cannot guess when the next congestion will happen.

Yes. ETH has become quite useless as a currency as well. But at least the ETH devs acknowledge it and considers it a problem that has to be solved somehow.
replied 1727d
Yes at least they do, unlike Core devs who don't care at all ("it's not a bug, it's a feature").

"Implement SegWit please." SegWit is complex as hell.
replied 1728d
Same for the Lightning Network. I am not sure companies have the incentive to implement it (payments can fail, channels have to be monitored and backed up...)
replied 1728d
And also, segwit is not a solution for the problem. It's more of a joke.
replied 1728d
It brings transaction malleability (to make the LN easier to implement) and enable script versioning (to do soft forks), so it is useful for some people... But it is complex like hell.

Yea. It is so comical and sad at the same time.
