My point is that I don't think it is worth caring about. Anyway, Gillette's monopoly on men's razors isn't going anywhere any time soon, no matter what political stance they take.
Gillette doesn't have a monopoly on men's razors. Men can buy alternative razors. Your point relates to you, so, sure. Others do, and thus have talked about it.
Gillette is as close to a Monopoly as possible. The only other company who has had non-disposable men's razors on US shelves is Dollar Shave Club a few years ago - until Gillette sued.
Also - and take this with a grain of salt - one thing I remember from business classes in college is that taking a political stance almost never harms a companies sales.
Sure, you can pull personal anecdotes of people buying less razors. However, on the flip side one could pull anecdotes of them buying more in response. My point, again, is...
that I was taught in business classes that studies have shown such stances have little to no negative effect on business. I don't care enough to argue. It's a shaving commercial.
Your point is that you don't care and don't think it'll do much. My point is that I appreciate knowing and will act accordingly. You: "nah, man." Me: "yeah, man." *shrugs*
Unless the teaching material is open source and any of us could reference and talk about it, it doesn't really matter. It amounts to you being an authority - "take my word on it."
It cannot be understated how much the Gillette shavers don't matter. Let's talk some more about how they don't matter. Such empassioned speech! ;) Very no effect on sales!
