I live in the US and that is not true here. Austin Texas is just one of the cities that is known for their street artists. They even let them spray paint live on busy sidewalk

Thanks for sharing! Do they work without permission nor license? Actually I was mostly thinking of Barcelona, Catalunya, Spain when I wrote that.
They sure do. All sorts of artists ranging from homeless people playing music to popular artists painting ect. No permission needed as long as you aren't blocking traffic ect.
Did you talk to any of them and asked them?
Whenever I myself have been homeless, that is how I made my money pulling myself out of it. I was an aritst and street performer.
