I am confused. Are you saying theoretical physics is a scam, and a scam only? No physics formula ever helped someone build/predict something better than a coinflip would?
I would agree most sciences are under constant attack by politics, big egoes, big money interests and the like, and they are more tarnished by it than most believe / like to admit.
But I would think that Einstein/Feynman contributed positively (and maybe also negatively) to such fields, and that those who know how to look can and do find useful stuff in it.
