Laser disc aka mini discs?
For a short time period they were thought to be the next big thing. Then came mp3's and streaming and took over.
MiniDiscs, right!
I play them in my car these days. MP3 was there, but storage (32 MB, not GB, thumbdrives) was still expensive, and no iPods (yet).
Laserdiscs are different, though.
