It's because of the Western shift into narcissism/celebrity culture. They only think of the impacts on themselves, no consideration for the elderly or infirm under lockdown fearing for their lives
Majority of western people think they are some special potato because they have a twitter account, meanwhile they are just socially and scientifically inadequate welfare parasites.
The only real "welfare parasites" are governments and banks/MNCs, everyone else has to jump through hoops to get anything substantial
If this would be true, people would not vote socialist regimes to power all across the globe. 90% of people is living from the work of 10%.
