Considering you think you are not a binary thinker maybe you are having trouble with the Dunning Kreuger Effect. You need to understand something before you can evaluate it.
Mentioning the Dunning Kruger effect is not your remark. The way you speak authoritatively on subjects without ever displaying basic competence in them is a great example of it though.
