The CashID project is similar, but decentralised. Handcash depends on a central server which could be abused.
I don't think decentralization matters much for wallets and apps. The bitcoin.com wallet is centralized, but it's a great wallet.
Bitcoin.com wallet is not centralised. At least not how I define centralised. It's a standard wallet just as centralised as any other mobile wallet.

Whereas handcash stores your handle on a central server. Bitcoin.com does not collect your information or alias.

Copay which it is based on uses a single centralised server to get information. You can set up your own, though.

Yes, it is. Bitcoin.com goes down and it's unoperational. It's not a SPV.

Bitcoin.com wallet is not centralized. You have your own private keys. If nodes it connects to goes offline, you can just use your seed in another wallet to gain access to your funds.

I meant that the bitcoin.com wallet is not open-source.

Ahh I see. Are you sure it is not open source? I mean it is a fork of Bitpay CoPay wallet already.

But I agree that ease of use is very important to onboard no-coiners

Yes, I agree also that ease-of-use is VERY important for onboarding no-coiners, and the experience in HandCash is definitely worth looking at.

This is just bullshit. The Bitcoin.com wallet is not custodial, if they go down, you can restore your keys in other wallets freely.

Twatter, I never claimed it was a custodial wallet.
