Holding all my crypto funds at the peak of the bubble in 2017. I should have sold / used some.
replied 1668d
That's the thing about -NOT- using cryptocurrency - if there's a major price correction you may regret having too many of them - bought all of my precious metals with crypto with gains
replied 1668d
I'd be more interested in hedging in gold if it could be tokenized as an SLP or ERC20 token instead of me jumping through flaming hoops to get mailed bullion.

Try uphold.com.
replied 1668d
Does uphold let you withdraw?
replied 1668d
Or is crypto completely custodial there?
replied 1668d
It's a custodial service. It's like a far better "robin hood" app. But buying precious metals is made very easy. Literally one click from BTC to gold, silver or titanium.
replied 1668d
So you cannot withdraw or deposit crypto there?
replied 1668d
You can withdraw/deposit crypto. It's also a BCH friendly CEO. Precious metals are also fully backed. Don't know if you can withdraw those metals, though. I think not. But crypto, yes.

"BCH friendly CEO"

I use it to get my website's Brave rewards. I have ~0.3 BCH ($9), the withdrawal fee is 0.01 BCH and the "network fee" 0.0003 BCH. What a joke!
replied 1668d
0.3 is more like 90 or did you mean 0.03?
replied 1668d
Yeah 0.03 my bad.

Sometimes a preview before sending would be good to avoid storing messages with typos, additional or missing words and numbers on blockchain
replied 1668d
Yeah, if that's the case Coinbase is definitely stronger here. Only the standard 226 satoshi withdrawal fee.
replied 1668d
Also, it doesn't support cashaddr! "BCH friendly CEO".
replied 1668d
dude.. calm down. I didn't say it is the go to BCH wallet. I'm talking about buying precious metals. I never saw a place, where you can get your hands on gold that easy. calm down.

I have to receive my BAT using Uphold and they charge me a 30% fee to withdraw it, that's why I hate them haha.

I just bought some gold (assuming it is backed) to do sth with my BCH.
replied 1668d
30%? ... ok, that's bad.
replied 1668d
Why do you *have* to use Uphold? If you have coinbase, you can swap the BAT for USDC and there are no fees to sell the USDC when you receive it in the Coinbase account.
replied 1668d
Do you know if it's possible to convert USDC to Euro? My problem with USDC is that I couldn't find an option to convert them to Euro and there is no BCH/USDC trading pair
replied 1668d
If you have Coinbase i think you can just sell for Euro or USD in the app. Although I'm not entirely sure.
replied 1668d
You can't buy or sell USDC on CB or CB Pro with EUR and there is no trading pair for BCH/USDC, but it looks like a conversion on Coinbase is possible

replied 1668d
As a publisher I have to: "Before you can redeem BAT you will have to connect your Brave Rewards account to Uphold"

replied 1668d
That's fucking ridiculous!
replied 1668d
Yes it is. That's why people were complaining about KYC a few months ago.
replied 1668d
Bitstamp has an option to "withdraw gold" if you're in Europe (delivery or pick-up in Slovenia)
replied 1668d
cool!

It seems a popular option is hedging in the MTG reserve list.
replied 1668d
This was a good move!
replied 1668d
The best part was using it directly - not after exchange (crypto PM sellers)
