I found the relevant book at archive.org, and had a look. It does not really use the word "stupid" in in the whole "After ten years" thing, and what I read also did not imply it.
That said, he had some interesting thoughts on the shortcomings of many strategies you see people use atm, like only care about "freedom", "duty", "truth" or similar things.
