Do you guys ever allow desktop applications to download and update themselves? I personally don't trust those. Too easy for them to be compromised. Please discuss in replies to this post.
When VLC or other apps say they have an update, I visit the site and download it there myself, then upgrade that way. Of course Chrome is always updating itself in the background.
