then Alan at 10mins ,the Van allen belts had no effect on them and they went through because....they were not discovered,lol .
Like i said many things, van allen belts is another.
The Van Allen belts are not a barrier. Going through them quickly is fine. It is just an issue of sensitive equipment with an orbit that spends significant time in that belt.
