One reason this is almost never done is that it breaks simple nice sounding ideas like marxism and woke. Another is that setting good incentives is really, really hard in many ways.

People refuse to believe that for example a medicine company would invest in stuff that make people sick so the company/individual get richer. They think moral standards come naturally

The fact is that different people have different standards, and that standards are always corroded away when power/money incentives are added to the mix.
