Most people are far more controlled by incentives than they know themselves. The problem with the current crisis is the incentives some have to exploit the covid situation to their own benefit
Therefore, if you want to fix the world, fix the incentives people have. That means investigating what incentives various changes lead to. This is almost not ever done properly.
One reason this is almost never done is that it breaks simple nice sounding ideas like marxism and woke. Another is that setting good incentives is really, really hard in many ways.
People refuse to believe that for example a medicine company would invest in stuff that make people sick so the company/individual get richer. They think moral standards come naturally
The fact is that different people have different standards, and that standards are always corroded away when power/money incentives are added to the mix.
