Sad to see BCH protocol continue to get tinkered with by developers just like ABC was doing instead of focusing on scaling
replied 498d
BCH has scaled transactional capabilities in various ways since it forked.
- raising blocksize from 8 to 32MB *
- unlimited tx chains
- multi op_return
- soon: reducing minimal tx size
replied 498d
* tested 256MB and 1GB blocks as well, those results will guide further node scaling
replied 498d
Unlimited TX chains is great and multi OP_RETURN would help. Biggest limitation is the 220 bytes for OP_RETURN which hasn't been touched since 2018. Should be unlimited also.

BCH shouldn't need any CHIPs. Raising/removing limits doesn't need a centralized approval process.
replied 498d
There is no centralized approval process.
The CHIP process is decentralized.

You can also run with limits removed, as anyone can. All you need is to understand the consequences.

The protocol changes are a waste of time and so far have only hurt BCH

Looks like other businesses disagree and are increasingly taking Bitcoin Cash seriously.
replied 498d
Seems like the long-term trend is BCH getting taken less seriously.

Since then we learned, incl. that marketcap is often times a bad metric for "seriousness".

FFW to today:

So government approval is BCHs strategy? We saw how well the BTC is "accepted" in El Salvador thing went. On 11/11/17 BCH did 45k txs. Yesterday there were 13k.
replied 498d
Everyone using Bitcoin Cash can pursue their own strategy.

Baseline agreement is that we make it the best peer to peer electronic cash system.

That includes scaling, we'll get there.
replied 498d
Electronic cash needs to be fungible like real cash.
Electronic cash needs to be private like real cash.

To make BTC fit these design parameters is to basically turn it into XMR.

USA is already rolling out their official surveillance coin.

There are going to be two kinds of crypto actually used as money:
1) Government-approved surveillance coins
2) Monero
